写真展「Flowers #1」のリーフレットを制作しました。 写真作品と作家自身の綴った文章を組み合わせ、印刷手法まで含めたトータルな表現を追求しています。印刷工程では工場へ出向き、表側の写真とかすかに重なり合う絶妙な印圧を求めて、本機での調整を繰り返しました。作家の捉えた光を打ち返すように、写真と呼応しながら現れる言葉の濃淡を、一つの表現として成立させられるか。私自身にとっても、印刷による新たな可能性への試みとなりました。 - I designed the exhibition leaflet for the photography show "Flowers #1." Combining photography with the artist’s own writings, I pursued an integrated expression that extends to the printing process itself. I visited the printing plant to personally oversee the production, repeatedly adjusting the press to achieve the precise pressure needed for the text on the reverse to faintly overlap the image on the front. As if reflecting the light captured by the artist, I challenged myself to see if these subtle gradations of text and image could be synthesized into a single, cohesive work—an experiment in the new possibilities of print.
